The story of surgeon Professor Rafal Wilczur, who loses his memory. After his wife elopes with her lover, taking their daughter with her, he wanders the city, where he is robbed and beaten. Unable to remember his identity as Antoni Kosiba, he finds his place in the countryside, where he eventually gains fame as a renowned healer.
