Advertising executive Kostya's life seems successful: his job brings him income and satisfaction, and the woman he loves has agreed to marry him. But everything falls apart in an instant: Kostya's father dies, leaving him with not only the family business-a women's shoe manufacturer-but also helpless female relatives accustomed to having their problems resolved by the head of the family. Kostya himself can hardly call himself a patriarch. He spends little time with his fiancée Sonya and daughter Marusya, communicates little with his mother, and even less with his daughter from his first marriage, Alisa, and her mother, Vera. He shows no interest in the family business and doesn't get involved in the company's affairs. But thanks to this family tragedy, Kostya finally matures and becomes a real man. No longer drifting with the flow, he finds the strength to take the helm and ultimately becomes a true support system for all the women in his life.
