Deana and Ginny, two inseparable eight-year-old ballet students, are preparing for one of the most important milestones of their young lives: their first performance in The Nutcracker. While spending an afternoon at the local library, they stumble upon an old book filled with mysterious handwritten notes that tell the story of a long-forgotten legend known as the "Nutcracker Curse." According to the tale, every dancer's future is determined by their first performance at the age of eight an experience that can either launch a brilliant career or forever shadow their dreams.
Intrigued and increasingly convinced that the curse may be real, the girls embark on a magical quest to break it. The legend points them toward a peculiar stone hidden within the Bass Museum, where a dancer must shed two genuine emotional tears to alter their fate.
