Crime, Mystery | Irinarkhov faces charges of fraud. Irinarkhov's men kidnap Kurochkin, the assistant to the Prosecutor General, and discover a prosecutor's agent in their ranks. Private detective Dubrovsky escapes from the counterfeiting bandits pursuing him. Trying to understand the situation, Dubrovsky consults with his teacher, Fyodor Kitaev, a retired Interior Ministry general and now an author of detective novels. Dubrovsky meets with a new client, Masha. A large publishing house, Mercury, is trying to publish a novel, the rights to which belong to Masha. She wants to hire a private detective to steal the text of the novel stolen from her from Mercury. But after meeting Masha, Dubrovsky is kidnapped. State Duma deputies are trying to prevent Irinarkhov from running for president.
