Detective Shaw is a new detective working under a division of the FBI known as the Dimensional Police Agency, whose job it is to prevent the public from knowing that the Multiverse Theory exists. Maxwell Bellum is a young adult of 19 and a preppy rich kid who first witnessed a strange red-haired kid jumping from dimension to dimension. To prevent Maxwell from spilling the beans, Shaw tries to get as much information out of him as possible; however, Maxwell's very hesitant, due to his distrust of authoritative figures resulting from his absentee parents. While both share personalities of naivety and intimidation respectively, they soon switch roles, when Shaw digs deeper in Maxwell's personal life. Instead of Shaw being timid and naïve, he becomes more intimidating; and vice versa for Maxwell.
