When the M.P. for Broughty Ferry dies, cheeseburger magnate Bob Servant sees his opportunity to fill the breach as an Independent candidate. Disapproving of campaign manager Frank's uninspiring posters, Bob goes on local radio, where his views on dog fouling - that all guilty canines should be destroyed - are controversial and his attitude to disabled badges leads to a visit from the police. A trip to a primary school, erroneously arranged by Frank who thought it was a university, is similarly unsuccessful. Furthermore, Bob's rival Nick Edwards has an excellent poster campaign whilst Bob is recalled to the radio studio to clarify his position on dogs, which has caused an unprecedented number of complaints. Things look bleak for Bob's political future.
