On his way to Ujima City, Takeshi Nanjo was mistaken for a man named Eikichi and shot at from a rickshaw. He was surrounded by assassins but fought them off. It was there that he was seriously wounded and rescued by Shôtensai Tatsumaru, a member of a magic troupe. After arriving in Ujima with the troupe, Takeshi learned that Eikichi was the son of Ryûsaku, the boss of the Aoyagi gang, and a man who had been missing for a long time.
